1. Home for the Homeless
ETA Star supports “Red Crescent Authority” for ‘Home for the Homeless’ programme with AED 2 million
ETA Star and its joint venture partners donate one per cent of total sales during the Holy month of Ramadan to build homes for the homeless. The cheque value is equivalent to one per cent of the total sales of ETA Star and its joint venture partners Hircon and Star Giga.
2.Mobile Medicare Unit
ETA ASCON STAR GROUP Supports Help Age India in a big way for Mobile Medicare unit in Ramanathapuram district. Mr.Syed M Salahuddin , Managing Director , ETA ASCON STAR GROUP presented a cheque for Rs 21,88,190 to Mrs Indrani Rajadurai , Regional Director (south) ,Help Age India towards running cost & capital cost for one year for running a Mobile Medicare Unit at Kilakarai Town,Ramanathapuram District . ETA ASCON STAR GROUP has signed a MOU with Help Age India to support this newly started unit at cost of Rs 50,53,350 for three years which includes the cost of the new Mobile Medicare unit Van. Apart from this Mr.Syed M Salahuddin presented another cheque for Rs 6,00,000 towards the first installment of approved donation of Rs 12,00,000 for providing free cataract IOL surgeries to 1000 poor elders in the Ramanathapuram District. This new Mobile Medicare unit will provide free medical treatment for the sick and poor old people living in ten deserving and needy villages in and around Kilakarai Town in Ramathapuram district. This Mobile Medicare unit is the latest addition to host of 51 Mobile Medicare units of Help Age India which are spread all over the country.
3.ETA Ascon Star contributes to Red Cross Society of China.
ETA Ascon Star Group has contributed 1.5 million dirhams to the Red Cross Society of China for the rehabilitation of Sichuan earthquake victims.
4.More than 7,190 people stand up to express solidarity with UN-supported world campaign
A large number of employees and senior management officials of ETA Ascon Star Group gathered on October 18 and 19 in Dubai to express their solidarity with the UN-supported 'Mission Green Earth Stand Up and Take Action' campaign.
Sporting bright white signature T-shirts, over 7,190 employees of ETA Ascon Star Group from all over the UAE gathered at Salahuddin Road, Deira, early morning on October 18 & 19 and pledged to eradicate extreme poverty and work towards an environmentally sustainable world.
Seeking to create a better world for the mankind, the campaign pledges to:
• Serve humanity by creating a truly global civilization, acting in harmony to eradicate poverty, disease and hunger.
• Cherish our beautiful planet by integrating measures in our lives that contribute to protecting natural resources, ecology and environment.
• Achieve the goal of universal primary education and reduce child mortality.
• Promote gender equality, empower women and improve maternal health.
• Create long-term sustainable partnerships that will help us reach the above goals.
5.ETA Star International signs MoU with TERI on environmental studies
ETA Star International, member of the Dubai-based $5 billion ETA Ascon Star Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy Research Institute (TERI) of India to explore areas of co-operation in an effort towards sustainable development. The MoU pertains to co-operation between ETA Star International and TERI in a number of areas including the assessment of buildings to get them LEED-certified in basic, silver, gold and platinum ratings. The agreement enables ETA Star International to provide these services to other organizations in the UAE and Gulf region.
The other areas of co-operation include conducting environmental impact studies, energy audits of commercial, residential and industrial units, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) studies and reducing carbon footprint in the UAE.
6.ETA Star partners with Habitat for Humanity for the 'Homes for the Homeless' initiative
ETA Star announced its partnership with the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), a not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Georgia, USA, dedicated to eliminating poverty housing, for its Homes for the Homesless initiative. UAE-based organizations Dubai Lifestyle City, Homes r Us and Star Cements are also partnering with ETA Star to be part of the noble venture.
7.Humanatarian aid for the homeless at Myanmar by ETA Star
ETA Star Properties donated 5000kgs of rice grains for the benefit of people affected by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. The donation is being made through the World Concern Nargis Relief Team the world's largest international food assistance organization.
8.Western Auto,Driving New Convenience at Al Noor Training Centre

Now, with the new complimentary service that it is offering Dubai based Al Noor Training Centre, Western Auto is showing its commitment to all round development and its responsibility to society.

9.Ascon’s Donation and Clean Up Campaign
Ascon donated school desks and undertook maintenance works of the old desks for Al Hudaybiyah Primary School, Dubai. Ascon in coordination with the Western Region Municipality organized a clean up campaign in Ghayathi city.
10. The staff of the ETA ASCON Star group and drivers from CARS TAXI Group has once again reacted positively to the call for financial aid, and have voluntarily contributed generously towards Pakistan Flood Relief. The amount contributed is being proportionately distributed between the UAE Red Crescent and the Indian Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. A cheque worth AED.500,000/- was handed over Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Alhaj Al Zarouni , General Manager of the Dubai branch of the UAE Red Crescent on 14th December 2010. This amount is in addition to the ETA Management contribution of AED.250,000/- which was given to UAE Red Crescent in September this year.
11. The Employees and the Management of ETA ASCON STAR Group made a voluntary contribution of fund for Japan Tsunami Relief.The Directors Mr. Essa Al Ghurair & Mr. Hameed Salahuddin, the Executive Directors Mr. Ahamed Meeran & Mr. Akbar Khan, Mr. Yamamoto, Technical Advisor, Mr. Akiyama, Senior Manager and Mr. Ahmed Kabir, AGM visited the Japanese Consulate in Dubai and met his Excellency the Consul General of Japan
Mr.Takashi Ashiki and presented a cheque for AED. 550,000/- (Dirhams Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Only) towards tsunami relief.
This cheque is towards 50% of the total amount of AED 1.1 million being intended by the company for tsunami relief. The balance amount of another AED 550,000 will be given for the cause through the U.A.E Ambassador in Japan.
The Consul General appreciated the noble gesture of the employees and the management of the company and profoundly thanked.
